About the Author

Barry Beckham is 53 years old and has been involved in photography most of his adult life. His early involvement in photography came when he joined a Photographic Society and quickly became involved in all the activities such as development and printing of both black and white and colour images. Barry found a creative outlet for his photography via slideshows, and toured clubs in the UK lecturing on the subject.

Barry was intorduced to a very early version of Adobe Photoshop some years ago when computers were almost steam driven and every task took ages to complete. He saw the potential of the digital revolution and stuck with it, learning the techniques and skills required.

In fact, Barry now realises that he was a digital photographer all his life, just waiting for the equipment to be invented. Barry works 100% digitally using a Nikon Coolpix 990 digital camera and a Canon EOS D60 digital SLR. He writes regularly for leading UK digital imaging magazines, and lectures to amateur and professional photographers on Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.
